Get Illuminated Fra kjetter.com: 18.10.2007: Historiker Øystein Sørensen snakker om Den største sammensvergelsen: Illuminatus, verdenshistoriens skumle herskere.
Norgesmesterskap i konspirasjonsteorier.
I 1776 grunnla bayeren Adam Weishaupt Illuminatus-ordenen.

Iconoclast The MovieLarry Wessel's documentary about Boyd Rice has now finished shooting, and some of the 200 hours of interviews will also be distilled into a book, also titled "Iconoclast". The dvd is planned to be released in summer/fall 2008, with the book to follow.
From the Iconoclast website:
Larry Wessel: "I am now editing approx. 200 hours of interviews with Boyd Rice, Daniel Miller, Ray Dennis Steckler, Allison Anders, Bob Larson, Jeffrey Vallance, Coop, Johanna Went, Adam Parfrey, Blanche Barton, Don Bolles, Z'EV, Douglas P, Vadge Moore, Beth Moore-Love,Moore, Jim Morton, Richard Wolstencroft, Steve Hitchcock a.k.a. Ferrara Brain Pan, Tom Griswold, Bob Ferbrache, Gidget Gein, Michael Uhlenkott (Monitor), Frederik Nilsen (B People), Brian Clark, Shaun Partridge, Giddle Partridge, James "Papa Partridge" Fairley, Snow, Lorin Partridge, Stanton LaVey, Ed Colver, Johnny Strike, Little Fyodor, Michael Sheppard, Rubber O Cement, Diane Bartley and Mike Bartley and many others mastered to DVD and released by Summer/Fall 2008. Oh, did I mention Rodney Bingenheimer and Kitten Natividad? How about the people that protest Boyd's shows? They are also in ICONOCLAST!!
ICONOCLAST, the documentary will be followed by ICONOCLAST, the book, a big fat book of these interviews I did with Boyd Rice and his friends and associates that I will be putting together which is even more interviews and material that I didn't have room to squeeze onto the DVD!!"
From mute.com: "The records made by Boyd Rice under his own name and that of NON, are probably the most extreme and certainly the most unique in the Mute catalogue. From the early experiments with modified instruments to his recordings of distressed and destroyed vinyl, the self styled "King of Noise" has constantly pushed at the envelope of possibility. His wilful deconstruction of the relationship between artist and consumer and between performer and audience has created an impressive catalogue of work that stands as true testimony to his singular vision."

It's Alive - again! On Oct. 2nd, Rhino releases the much anticipated "It's Alive!" concert by The Ramones on dvd, shot on film at the same gig that's on the "It's Alive!" album. As it turns out, this whole thing is a luxurious live anthology, tracing The Ramones' entire career, presenting 118 songs recorded from 1974-96, at 33 different occasions. Included are a little bit of Ramones' performance at the US Festival in '82, footage mentioned by Arturo Vega in February when he came to Norway to show slides and talk about his years with the band, having attended all but two of their concerts. That's 2261 concerts!
From Rhino's press release:
Blitzkrieg through over 4 hours of live Ramones on Rhino's new 2-DVD set that unleashes a marathon line-up of rare, historic and previously unreleased concert footage with featured selections in 5.1 Surround Sound. Spanning over two decades of shows and more than four years in the making, IT'S ALIVE 1974-1996 was produced with music supervision from Ramone's drummer Tommy Ramone. From the band's earliest club gigs in lower Manhattan to international festivals in front of hundreds of thousands of fans, this is your VIP ticket to the loudest show on earth.
The DVD compilation rockets through performances from around the world, opening Disc One with seminal early shows from legendary clubs CBGB and Max's Kansas City in the band's hometown, New York City. The disc closes with a 5.1 Surround Sound mix of the concert the collection was named for, IT'S ALIVE, filmed in the U.K. at London's Rainbow Theatre on December 31, 1977 - what more festive way to bop into the new year than with Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, Tommy, Marky, Richie, and C-Jay Ramone?
In between is '70s-era footage from an assortment of Ramones dates in Ann Arbor, MI, Austin TX, Chicago, IL, Cambridge, MA and other locales. Also featured is a 1977 performance for Don Kirshner's Rock Concert filmed in Los Angeles.
Disc Two kicks off with a 1978 full set from Musikladen - Bremen, Germany and spotlights other international dates in Argentina, Finland, Italy Spain and Sweden. Also featured are U.K. television performances including several tapings for the BBC2's acclaimed live music show The Old Grey Whistle Test as well as Top Of The Pops appearances from 1980 and 1995.
Disc Two's Stateside dates include shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as a 5.1 Surround Sound mix of their previously unreleased set at the US Festival in San Bernardino, CA in 1982. The set closes out IT'S ALIVE 1974-1996 with the Ramones' last-ever international performance, captured in Buenos Aires, Argentina as they bid Adiós with “I Wanna Be Sedated,” “R.A.M.O.N.E.S.” and “Blitzkrieg Bop.”
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the Ramones rank #26 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list “The Immortals: The Fifty Greatest Artists Of All Time” (right in between Fats Domino and Nirvana). The world's first punk rock band, they formed in NYC in 1974 and were already on their third LP when the Sex Pistols spit out their first. Outlasting all who followed, The Ramones relentlessly delivered their signature (and catchy) chainsaw-level sound for over twenty years via a string of now-classic punk LPs and a phenomenal 2,263 concerts.
The Ramones are no more - Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee all passed away within eight years of the group's '96 breakup - but their sound and influence and indestructible. Don't wanna grow up yet? - put it off for 262 minutes with IT'S ALIVE 1974 - 1996!

[MySpace site for konserten // IGR at MySpace // B'eirth at wiki]
• Billettpris kr. 100,-

Zamora - The Torture King - On & Off The Midway Astonishingly, James Taylor's unique series of books about freak- and sideshow culture, both historic and current, has reached its NINTH volume, soon to be published this fall. And yes, the sideshow is still a part of American culture, although increasingly marginalized and moved away from fairgrounds into the nightclub and rock'n'roll venues.
In this volume: On & Off The Midway!
-- Interview with Tim "Zamora the Torture King" Cridland (Cridland, formerly of Jim Rose Circus Sideshow, is one of the most deadly serious people working in this field. He's trying for seemingly impossible body-skewering techniques mastered by Middle Eastern shamans through the ages. One of Cridland's role models in this regard is the Dutch fakir Mirin Dajo a.k.a. Arnold Gerrit Henske, who could take multiple skewerings right thru the body without visible pain or injury. He can be seen in the mondo movie ECCO.)
-- Interview with Manuel King (once billed as the World's Youngest Animal Trainer when he was 10yrs. old back in the '30s)
-- Interview with Karen Forsythe
-- Excerpt from RATTLING YOURS - THE STORY OF SNAKE KING (the man who supplied pretty much all the carnival shows with the bulk of their exotic animals, especially reptiles, in the first half of the 20th century)
-- Excerpt from John Strausbaugh's BLACK LIKE YOU on the historical origins of minstrelsy medicine shows!
-- Next installment of "The Strand," on variety entertainment at the turn of the century
-- Next installment of Walt Hudson's "Coney Island Baby" (art by freak artist Jim Mundie)
-- Large photo essay tracing the history of Ken Harck's Bros. Grim Sideshow
-- Piece on Joseph Pujol (yeah, Le Petomane) and our discovery that, in spite of the urban myth to the contrary, he really existed (as opposed to: he was a hoax) and farted for a living (art by artist Jim Mundie again)
-- "Lingo" has art by Kevin Gerrone this go 'round
-- Cover art by Mark Frierson ... AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
Can be pre-ordered from Atomic Books, prob'ly the best bookstore in the world, with very nice and helpful staff. If you think collecting these nine volumes is a bit much, try Taylor's Shocked & Amazed Book of the best articles from the early issues. As Atomic puts it: James Taylor is the world's foremost authority on the lore and history of the sideshow, perhaps the greatest expert on the subject ever to have lived, if we may be so bold. He has appeared everywhere from the front page of the WALL STREET JOURNAL to PUBLIC EYE WITH BRYANT GUMBAL.

There are also dozens and dozens of informative film, video and DVD reviews, covering such titles as Leonard Nimoy in Jean Genet's Deathwatch, directed by Vic Morrow; Juraj Jakubisko's An Ambiguous Report About the End of the World; the caveman comedy double-bill RRRrrrr!!! and Grunt!; John Cassavetes and Peter Falk in Machine Gun McCain; Neville Brand, Vince Edwards and Carol Lynley in Death Stalk; the surreal Mexican fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood And The Monsters; Cem Yilmaz in the Turkish sci-fi/comedy G.O.R.A.; Judd Hirsch in The Night That Dracula Saved The World; Eric Thornett's Fifth City, with Cash Flagg Jr.; Shusuke Kaneko's manga-adaptation Death Note and Death Note 2: The Last Name; Orson Welles in Harry Kumel's Malpertuis; Joe Don Baker and Sonda Locke in Curse of Demon Mountain; Timothy O'Rawe's no-budget zombie-comedy Ghoul School; Michael Herbig's gay sci-fi/comedy (T)raumschiff Surprise - Periode 1; the Vietnamese fantasy The Little Crab Carries Sand On The Beach; Dunderklumpen!; Jean-Louis Trintignant in Enki Bilal's Bunker Palace Hotel; Georg Koszulinski 's Silent Voyeur; Al Adamson's Five Bloody Graves and Nurse Sherri - and MANY more!

Anger Me A new canadian documentary on cult filmmaker Kenneth Anger is out on dvd, titled "Anger Me". His earliest films came out on dvd this year, struck from newly restored and digitally remastered prints. A second volume is supposed to be out Oct. 2nd. This vol. includes the films Scorpio Rising (1964), Kustom Kar Kommandos (1965), Invocation of My Demon Brother (1969), Rabbit's Moon (1979 version) and Lucifer Rising (1981). A few shorts and fragments have been worked on after '81 but haven't been widely shown.
The documentary and new 35mm prints of some films are shown at Henie-Onstad, Oslo, Sept. 15th.
From FilmJournal's review of "Anger Me": "... Anger Me, Elio Gelmini‘s fascinating, skillfully crafted documentary, which stars Anger himself. Anger is perhaps most known today for his book Hollywood Babylon, that compilation of scandalous Tinseltown tales, but, from 1947 to 1980, he also made underground films, introducing his singular brand of surrealism, homoeroticism and guerrilla technique, which influenced the likes of Jack Smith, Andy Warhol and David Lynch."

Norsk Pønk var ikke død ... ... men lukter nok ennå rart.
I tillegg slippes også "Anarki & Kaos Vol. 2" (m/bl.a.
