From the Sideshow to the Big Top - Joe Coleman! The world's only international magazine for outsider art/folk art/art brut and visionary art has an old self-portrait by Joe Coleman on the cover (also used on the JC pic disc LP issued in the 80's) of their latest issue (#64), with a big and very nice looking feature inside, reproducing quite a few paintings. You can mail order the mag on their site and get it within a few days. Coleman says that he is now working on his biggest painting to date, a full size self portrait. 18 months into it the painting is about half done, so he reckons it will take at least 3 years totally. During the last decade, his paintings have broken new boundaries in size, incredibly fine details and luminous colors. And this latest work will undoubtedly be completely mindblowing when finished.
