Smut and exploitation! The intensely active Robin Bougie out of Vancouver has a new issue ready of his inimitable sleaze'n'cult film zine CINEMA SEWER. Issue 17 has a lot of cool contents, "a dung-load of good times", as he puts it.
The new issue includes:
• A fantastic cover by the one and only, Mr. Mike Hoffman!
• A groin-load of sleazy comic books about insane classic old skool movies by Robin Bougie, Josh Simmons, Colin Upton, Tim Grant (who introduces us to SOD's "Zenra" line of bizarre Japanese porn), Phil B (who illustrates the "History of Bukkake", and Sean Esty (who gives us a deep penetrating look at XXX star Ashley Blue)!!
• A page-turning five page interview with Shaun Costello (aka Warren Evans), one of the most astounding and fascinating hardcore directors in the '70s and '80s. People, this is the first contact the film world has had with Shaun in years - and he's not afraid to stir the shit!! Don't you dare miss it!
• A festival diary from the amazing 2005 Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal
• Sassy details about a major anti-porn shit-storm in the lobby of the Fox Porn theater during a screening of the 1977 John Holmes / Serena classic DISCO DOLLS! Drama! DRAMA! DRAAAMAAA!
• An illustrated list of the ugliest classic adult movie advertising ever created! (And trust me, it gets pretty stinky)
• Bougie wags his typing fingers about the super-fun 1970 black and white documentary sexploitation film I WANT MORE (aka Sock it to me with Flesh!) It'll have you playing bum darts before you know it!
• Cinema Sewer interviews THE DEVIL INSIDE HER star, Jody Maxwell about her tell-all book "My Private Calls" concerning her many freaky years as a phone sex operator! Jody also dishes the dirt on working in 1970's porn, and having an abnormally huge clitoris! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
• Gentleman degenerate Shawn Johns gives a freaky glimpse of a cracked- out blood and guts western - CUT THROATS NINE!
• Jan Bruun tears Lukas Moodyson a new o-ring in his review of HOLE IN MY HEART! (Yeah, that's yours truly. Only one page of my stuff this time, I hope to come back stronger in a later issue!)
• Steep your loins in virgin-themed cinematic nostalgia with a retro-spective of the Tatum O'neal and Kristy McNichol's teen sex classic LITTLE DARLINGS! Why doesn't Hollywood make 'em like this anymore?? Join us in our saucy outrage!
As Robin says: ALL THIS AND PILES MORE PACKED INTO 44 DENSELY ILLUSTRATED PAGES! ONLY A BORN-AGAIN MONGOLOID REPUBLICAN HOUSEWIFE WOULD DARE MISS IT!!
JR: Hey, I still have copies of #14 for sale. It's the "Times Square" special and includes my review of the Mondo Cane 8xdvd box set. Sold out from the publisher.
And check out the Bougieman's daily comics!!!

Everything you know is still wrongNewsletter from disinfo.com:
Workshop in Rhinebeck, New York: Everything You Know is Wrong -- A Disinformation Weekend -- September 23rd-25th, 2005, Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY
Course 4702-160 • Tuition $350 • Accommodations fees additional
Join us for one of the most provocative programs of the season. This “Disinformation” weekend offers us a rare chance to interact with a disparate, yet thematically cohesive group of out-of-the-box thinkers, and discover creative new strategies for navigating the zeitgeist of the new millennium.
For anyone interested in freedom of information and imagination, this is an excellent opportunity to explore alternative thought and have your voice heard through small group discussions and question-and-answer sessions with some of the leading contributors, thinkers, and moving forces associated with the Disinformation Company Ltd., a thriving publishing, television, and home video provider based in New York City.
If you’re looking for alternative information on current affairs, politics, the occult, underground culture, and new science—and the “hidden” information that is censored by the corporate-owned media conglomerates, then this special Disinformation Company Weekend is for you.
Tuition discounts are not available. This workshop has a special schedule when the children’s program may not be available; please call Omega.
FACULTY
Richard Metzger is cofounder and creative director of The Disinformation Company. Metzger has written two books, Disinformation: The Interviews and Book of Lies. He also hosted and directed the outrageous English television series Disinformation.
Douglas Rushkoff is the author of eight best-selling books on new media and popular culture, including Media Virus and Coercion: Why We Listen to What “They” Say. The visionary artwork of Paul Laffoley has been featured in more than 40 exhibitions and several books, including In Pursuit of the Invisible and Paul Laffoley: The Phenomenology of Revelation. He apprenticed with sculptor Mirko Basaldella and visionary architect Frederick Kiesler, before founding the one-man think tank known as the Boston Visionary Cell.
Joe Coleman’s paintings are the unflinching autopsies of the human condition, the juncture between saint and sinner, sacred and profane, holy and horrifying. His work has been exhibited at the Wadsworth Atheneum and the Hieronymus Bosch Museum. He is widely considered to be one of today’s finest painters.
Genesis P-Orridge This so-called wrecker of civilization was a founding member of the Industrial Music post-punk coterie with the art rock ensemble Throbbing Gristle He later formed Psychic TV, a rock group with an attendant cult, and early mover in the nascent rave culture of the late 1980s. Ballardian Ballardisms x 2 Back in 1984, Re/Search released a beautifully designed, big format book on JG Ballard, full of interviews and stories. This book (Re/Search #8/9) is still the best introduction to this british writer of "imaginative fiction", but commuters who need books to shove into a pocket or small bag are now treated to two new Ballard titles from editor V. Vale: "JG Ballard: Quotes" and "JG Ballard: Conversations". I don't like books of qoutes, the whole idea is too fractured and annoying, but the interview book is great, and I'd recommend it to anyone with the slightest interest in the author behind controversial titles like "The Atrocity Exhibition" (still in print in a fantastic, illustrated edition from Re/Search) and "Crash".
The interviews are conducted by Vale, Graeme Revell, Mark Pauline and others from 1983 thru 2004. Admittedly, Ballard has become older, and is not quite as prophetic as he used to be, but he still has a lot to say about the times we live in and the possible futures we are facing.
"The past will disappear and the future will go next." (JGB)
Book party coming up Sept. 10th for those in the SF area.
